Let’s dissect this shall we.
You don’t get to decide what is and is not fetishization. In the same way that a white person cannot tell me that my experiences with racism are invalid, you cannot tell another person what to feel and how to respond to your behavior.
I don’t care about this so called “root”. That was not my concern. I spoke of fetishization. I made no mention of citing sources. Take that up with the people who care.
It’s your blog. You are certainly free to do what you please. But recognize that you are a hypocrite. You say that you love black women and that you wish to show how beautiful they are. That’s wonderful. But you fail to see that your kind of love may be wrong. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Whatever your good intentions are, they are problematic.
If you cannot listen, and recognize constructive criticism, you aren’t loving anyone. You have a “thing” for black women. And you want to do it no matter how people feel about it. That’s the so-called love you want to express. That is beyond abhorrent.
Sure there is a need to see black women as beautiful. But I am not so desperate to be seen as pretty that I will jump for joy when someone claims to love black women and what we look like.
I am not your “sista” do not patronize me and insult my intelligence. I am nothing of yours. Don’t think that because we might potentially share a similar phenotype all of a sudden I am your sista. That problematic 60s rhetoric does not work on me.
You don’t get a pass because you are black and male. You are not immune from being capable of fetishization. If you can’t understand that, if you can’t get that you could potentially be feeding into the issue then your ego desperately needs to be perforated.

Heightened fears about a series of burglaries and fires targeting abortion and OB-GYN clinics around metro Atlanta have triggered heightened security across the country.
The FBI, which is leading a joint investigation, is looking at the cases as possibly domestic terrorism or civil rights violations, according to ATF spokesman Richard Coes.
“We are concerned about the escalation and activity,” said Vicki Saporta, president of National Abortion Federation, which sent out notifications to all member clinics about the Atlanta incidents twice this week, urging them to take additional precautions. “It’s not a good sign when one arson follows another, after following several burglaries. Something clearly is escalating there and we’re hoping that the strong law enforcement so far can stop it.”
